Thanks mastertech01 wrote in post #7337099 Wow, great shots. Which lens? Thanks! First one is the 85mm F/1.8 USM, yet again. The second one is the 50mm F/1.4 USM. Think the kid is old enough for a paper route? Daddy needs a 50L...

I haven't sent it in yet, and might do so, but for now I'm satisfied. It's not sharp wide open but the other qualities of the lens make up for it. It's definitely not perfect, but I think I've found one I'm happy with. Perry | www.perryge.com

I'm picking up a 5D tomorrow (woo!!!) and the 35L is on the very short list for a month from now - if the 35L isn't available and the II is $1600ish, I'm going to be not happy... Bill is my name - I'm the most wanted man on my island, except I'm not on my island, of course. More's the pity.

If there is a version II coming, that will just slightly drop the prices of the 35L, so take advantage of it and snag it when you can. Name is Peter and here is my gear:

Feb 16, 2009 15:46 | #8805 If a new one is announced and 35L prices start to plummet, I will pick another one up. There is definitely a price point where the quality of the 35L becomes totally worth the niche focal length for me. Perry | www.perryge.com
