1D3 would be nice, but, I have no use for it. Now, a 1Ds2 or 3...and I'd be golden, and wouldn't need to figure out a different course of action for focus/recompose, cause I'd have a 45 point AF system that worked!

Oh well...some day. Till then, I have what I have...and never was I not content with it. ;)

1D2n AF still failed me on the weekend.

... but then again I don't think anything short of AF-assist lamps (damn you Nikon!) would win - very backlit subjects.

Get away from me Perry, just f##k off, I don't need to see that. ;)
just kidding. Much love to you for 'looking out' for me. I don't need the 1D3. I know my strengths and limitations as a photographer, and my equipment.

Looking at either getting the new RadioPopper PXs or the PocketWizard FlexTT5 though :)

I think it's time to make a switch to Noink....erm...scratch that. Too much investment in Canon glass.

Now now Clarence.

Though, I have looked into the PW's, and those look pretty darn sick! I gotta admit, it's something I could totally use, in the next few months once I have my light kit...whenever the heck that may be.

Nah, I would never switch. They don't even have a 85 1.2 so forget that. Plus, it's too much to switch to their system, in terms of financial constraints...and their lenses are uber $$'s anyway.

Problem for me, is the 5D outer points are horrible, so, I try to compensate with F/R and that doesn't cut it...so, what other choice do I have? A 1D anything isn't in the budget, so, there goes that option. I guess I'll just continue to make it happen, that's all...however I have to get it done. Might sell off some lenses, that's all. Not worth it to keep them, if they don't perform the way I want them to.

And the 5D2 isn't any help, most likely, in that dept. either...so, no need to upgrade there.

Ee-S focusing screen? That's how I get around it.

And yeah, 85L FTW, it's 100% keeping me with Canon, especially when mounted on the 5D or MK3.

Sounds like a viable option, but, it's the F4's that aren't cutting it, especially at the outer points. Really sucks that I only have a limited budget...and that's all for light. Light will make things a little easier, I hope....till then, I can't do anything. :(

Ah yes it won't do very well with the f/4 lenses, gotta keep switching screens back and forth with those.

I'm gonna be pissed if Canon announces a new 50 1.4 and the bokeh still sucks.

Surely they will have an answer to the Sigma.

Im holding off on 50mm right now. Been eyeing the bargain prices on the old 20-35 2.8L. They go for around the price of a Sigma 50mm and I keep seeing good reviews on it.

I doubt it, and even if they do I doubt it'll be available anytime soon. If they made the optics and bokeh better, and it focused properly, the 50L sales would be cannibalized. I wouldn't be surprised to see a 50 1.4 with ring USM but the same optics, in which case I still prefer the Sigma.
