I don't think tax is a bad idea. It's the fairest form of regulation - the more you earn the more you pay.

socialist :)

Just another great reason to have moved out of NY. Not only are the property taxes high in Westchester, but we also pay 'federal' AND 'NY State Tax' on income. Not to mention 8.375% on every purchase, including Canon gear. Ouch.

Florida has no state income tax, about a third of the property tax, more affordable housing, and a lower sales tax...at bout 6.5%. Oh, AND I only have to file '1' tax return...for the feds. ;)

Meanwhile here's a bird from our trip to the zoo. Must say, the Jax Zoo does have 'lots' of birds and some other animals. Not bad, for a Zoo.

5D, 400 5.6L, 1/800th, ISO 50, eval. metering. Cropped, tad bit o'sharpening in DPP, and added copyright, resized, and here it is. I also don't remember the name...I always forget to check.

That looks like a young night heron, Manish. The distinctive red-eye that they have is absolutely beautiful, and their plumage turns a lovely grey and dark blue shade when they mature. Lovely shot.

You guys think she's gonna listen that awful westcoast gangsta rap when she grows up?

My step-son produces beats for rap artists. He says they're moving more into mainstream pop style and some of them are even actually starting to <gasp> sing. Let's hope and pray he's right....

Something a little different from me.

You have fields in Toronto? Didn't think anything grew there.

Yes, but you're in the land of the walking dead. You have so many 80+ year olds driving cars that I would kill someone in morning traffic.

Thanks...for the ID, and compliment. ;) Next time, I'm takin' pictures of the plaques to remind me, or writing this isht down when I visit the zoo. :)
Oh, and btw way, he was being 'very' watchful of the aligators that were beneath, in the pond below. :)

That's South Florida, pal. There's lots of younger people up here in Northern Florida, because the snow birds can't stand the 'cold' up here...haha. 43 deg. F. is too cold.

One time I was at Target and this guy had some sort of mental breakdown

Damn, I was hoping nobody noticed...

At times, I wish that I did. Maybe my taxes wouldn't be $15k a year

Ouch. Are values that high or just the tax rate. I pay $2400 (plus water, sewage & garbage) annually on a home that _was_ valued at about $650,000.

Dang, comments sure do pile up quickly! The guy coincidentally looks like the people you mentioned is just a fellow I met behind the scenes of a short film. He was readying up his tools to paint on the shirtless guy (main actor). IMO he does look like Sean Connery...

The movie was inspired by Momento and it's for a contest. 1st place winner gets an adapter for their video camera that accepts any type of lens. Cheap alternative to the super expensive stuff like the Red One...Geez...

Interesting shot, there Geno. Now, which way does the Sun set, or rise, in this scene? Just curious?

When we have sun, it sets to the right. This was taken at about 11:15 PM.
