Back again... had some time today and did a little walking around the neighborhood... was practicing manual settings and was shooting some traditional flower stuff when i ran into this little plant/weed (don't know) and i don't recall ever seeing anything like it before... all of the new leaves had this white line around them and the older leaves looked just normal with no line.

Not totally blow away 5d images but it was interesting to me so i thought i'd post :)

Don't know what they are but I had a plant with these leaves in my garden in England.

One from this evening...a Rainbow...after a LONG time. Once the storm was clearing, the rainbow was showing in the east, and the sunset in the west. Got both, but, thought I'd show this one.

Sharpening? What's that?

I haven't done any sharpening on any of the images i've taken with the 5d to date (a little over a month). I have used a little bit of noise reduction on the images i've uploaded to sell via microstock because they expect zero noise, but i haven't sharpened anything with the 5d

i'm also using an L (the "kit" lens that i got - the 24-105) so that helps a bunch.

but nope, no sharpening.

Are you using Lightroom to process? If you are it uses sharpening by default. You have to turn it to zero or you get automatic sharpening.

Well, I don't use Lightroom but i do use Aperture (apple) and yes, i'm aware that it does have a RAW tweak of the sharpening, but i've turned it on and off and can't really tell any difference so i leave it on.

I really thought the original question was in regard to post processing, but you're right that we should be aware of all the tools and what they do behind the scenes.
