Hello, in a few weeks I'll be traveling to Switzerland, Austria, and Germany for a vacation. I was wondering if any of you suggest anything I should buy/bring.

I've got a 20D + grip, and I'll probably primarily be using my Sigma 10-20 and Canon 70-200 f/4L. I don't have any filters or a flash. I have a tripod, but I don't think I'll be lugging that all the way there.

Additionally, I need a new good camera bag as the one I have is less than adequate. I was considering the Micro Trekker 100 from Lowepro.

Any suggestions/tips appreciated!

You'll need something inbetween your 20 and 70. Rent if you have to for the trip. Do not get a camera bag that looks like a camera bag.

Your Sigma 10-20 will likely be your primary lens. I lived in Germany for 3.5 years, and visited both Austria and Switzerland multiple times, so I know you'll have a great time. I miss Europe big time, and I wish I could go back soon, but it will likely be a couple of years. Have fun!

evan_d,
Lucky you!
I just got back this week from a trip to Germany/Munich and Austria. My gear was my 30D w/24-105 and my P&S SD950. I am still checking my pictures, but I must say, I am quite happy with the results.
Have a great trip!
Elfie

I would be surprised if you find much use for the 70-200 lens. It really is a bit long - the wide angle will be far more use IMO - thouhg it does depend on shooting style and preference, and you know your needs best.

I'd be thinking the 10-20 then a 24-105 IS? And perhaps a fast prime for those gloomy old indoor shots like churches and the like?

To be honest if you had the 10-20, a 30 1.4 and a speedlite, you'd be pretty much sorted.
