Roaring River State Park, located in southwestern Missouri, has one of the state's trout hatcheries and it is here where the people got up when it was still dark outside and lined the banks standing shoulder to shoulder as they cast lines seeking that Rainbow or Brown Trout.

I like fishing, too, but I stay along quiet streams and ponds so the camera helped me record this craziness.

Now that is quite funny. ...
Hope some of those fish survive, but with that many anglers out there, they don't stand a chance. Sooner or later, they're gonna get hungry

OMG.. I too like to trout fish, but not like that. I tend to find more isolated locals and keep them secret.....

I did some volunteer work at the hatchery last year and learned a lot! At any one time there are over 300,000 Trout being raised in the hatchery, but they stock the stream the night prior to opening with about 2,000 fish.

After that, the number of fish stocked changes throughout the year, to as low as 500 stocked per night. It is based on how many Trout tags were sold.

When I assisted stocking the stream people would actually follow us to see where we placed them. This was from 8:00-9:00 at night and you have some fool blowing your night vision with his headlights following you - all for a fish.

Yeah, jbone, not too bad really. Everyone seemed to get along just fine. The place had a bit of a carnival atmosphere with raffles and such.

whoa.. that's a lot of people. Nice shot.

Thanks DVS! I shot this with my XTI and my brand spanking new EF 200 f2.8L II USM prime lens that I just had delivered yesterday from B&H. Oh, how I love that lens!!!!
