Does anyone here like Rugby?

Nobody seems to comment on Rugby are the photos that bad or does no one like rugby?

Can't fault the action, they capture the essence of the game , contact without all the padding .

I would like to see the background thrown more out of focus , as its cluttered & detracts from the great subject.

Thanks for looking and commenting. I'm using a 100mm-40mm and for sharpness need to shot a little more wide open and I have so many to go through it makes it hard to do alot of PP on them. But thanks for the comments I was starting to think Rugby was band or something nobody comments on it.

Good action work, as Black_lab says less DOF to bring your action out, good battle of the outhalfs in shot 2

Not bad at all, first one doesn't look like the most comfortable moment!!

A good rule to bear in mind for rugby is to shoot when you can see the whites of the eyes - adds an additional dimension to the shot. Obviously some shots work without that (i.e. 1) however with the lens length you have, catching people coming straight at you should be possible. See if you can dig out some of my posts from last year or look at the stuff of Jim9449 or musicmate for examples.

Also, keep an eye on your sharpening - 2 looks a little unnatural around the edges.

Cheeky sod! Been on the football trail for the past few months which obviously I'm not allowed to post, so have just been lurking really! Super League has started again so might pop a couple up from that in the next few weeks.

Thank you for the tips I don't shot it very often, my brother plays and asked me to shot some games and it's kind of fun.
