Speed Challenge #42 - Morning

Morning time is one of those ambiguous times of the day, people can be excited and embrace the day ahead, others are depressed about yet another dull day at work/school. The weather can either be wonderful, or dank and dreary. So show us what mornings mean to you.

Images submitted should conform to the current forum guidelines (maximum of 1024 pixels on the longest side, and 150Kb for attachments).

This comp is all about having a bit of fun, and I look forward to seeing everyones interpretation of the subject, and good luck.

Posting will end at 12:00am GMT (MIDNIGHT) Saturday March 8, 2008.

Winners will be announced as soon as possible after the contest has closed.

Photo Submissions:
1. Camera -- Any Canon DSLR Camera
2. Time -- any on-topic photo taken at any time is eligible, although photos that have won other competitions should NOT be entered.

4. Post-Processing -- do whatever you like and the host will decide if it works.
5. Posting --* ONE PHOTO per photographer in each challenge.* Photo Name in the message subject line.* Camera model & lens used.* Notes -- post brief EXIF data including ISO, shutter speed and aperture used.
6. Commenting -- No commenting during challenge. When the posting is closed and a winner has been declared, comments can be made in this thread.

One challenge every week, on the following schedule:

Morning guys - time for the judging.

In first place is RobUk with his view of the valleys of Snowdonia. This, to me, eptitimises the commitment of the photographer to get up way before dawn to get himself in a position where he/she can be at the right place at the right time.

In second place, is Steve535. Nice exposure, and the inclusion of the fisherman gives a story to the shot.

Third place goes to LW Dail, for the wonderful interpretation and cynicsim. And a good exposure too...

Honorable mention goes to airfrogusmc. Been there, done that!

Snowdonia (after a bit of research) sure looks stunning, and what a great shot!

I have to give kudos to Flo - I have tried to get my Toby (Domanecker rooster) in that pose. He's not as cooperative as yours! I ALMOST tried again for this challenge! Great minds....!

And somehow Airfrog's doesn't look like a posed shot !

And I'm so jealous of those of you who have ocean close enough for morning shoots!

And thanks Pete, for this series of challenges. I love getting the topic, pondering, then going out to shoot it! What a great way to force us to get out there and shoot!

Thanks Pete, and even having the commitment to get up early to get the shot is made easier by having such stunning scenery and landscapes on my door step............. Congrats to everyone else that entered they were all great shots.......... I'll get the next comp up now

A bit more about the shot........ The picture was taken from the car park half way down Nant (Gorge) Gwynant pass on the A498 with the Summit of Snowdon to my right, and the settlement Gwastadannas in front of me with the Afon (River) Glaslyn running into Llyn (Lake) Gwynant but this is hidden by the mist. It was being in the right place at the right time, and I have been there on a lot of occasions when there was no mist to be seen at all......... (English translations in brackets)
