Thanks for the post tekkie. I placed an order for a 430ex and we'll see what happens. Not much on reseller ratings, but no typical upsale junk like some of the NYC shops. There were a few negative reviews... but they seemed like CS problems, not grey market/used.

Shipping was ~14 to 32792...

Better hurry... sale ends 3/7!

I am located in Indy and that is one of the local shops around here. I just got my tripod from there last week. However I did try to contact them via their website with no response. Nice store though. :)

aquagirl - what sorts of photos / situations are you using the 430ex in?

i'm having trouble deciding for that flash or the 580 series. it will be used for large concert photography.

i'm in indianapolis as well. small world.

I actually just received it Friday and I haven't had a chance to use it yet. I am a newbie to all this really. I had a 35mm rebel years ago and had a metz flash. I just got so used to using an external flash that I haven't been impressed with the pop up flash. My use will be mostly parties and social gatherings and the like. I only have the kit lens right now so I am also hoping the flash will help out until I can get something faster. Like I said I am just starting to learn. :) But I do know that there are lots of people here that know their stuff to help you out!

Got an email around 930am saying they had sent my order to the order desk for processing. I was starting to worry since I placed my order yesterday [after I posted] and hadn't heard from them... According to the order page I was supposed to receive an email "shortly" but the store is closed on Sunday...

So it's all good... so far!

I'm glad you posted, phdeez; I ordered yesterday and haven't gotten any confirmation e-mail yet. I will hopefully hear from them very soon.
