Why do companies even have e-mail addresses?

It's so rare to actually get a response via e-mail from a large company. Why do they even bother giving an e-mail address or a contact form. It just makes them look bad when they don't respond.

Most of them have phone numbers. I hardly ever trust an email address for a company to be monitored effectively - they'll pick up mostly spam, so I bet lots of customer emails are simply deleted without being read.

I spend my money with people who respond within a day or two, & don't have phone numbers that reply with "Press one for English". :D

The rest don't care enough about customer service to matter to me.

I have had pretty decent luck getting responses back from many companies, even large ones via email. I see those as the ones wanting to keep my business as they have a pretty decent customer service program.

One right now is on hy sh*t list. Not only are they ignoring email, they ignore phone calls as well. Worst customer service I have seen in a long time. So, stay away from Fisher Paykel appliances. They look noce but those folks do NOT stand behind their equipment.

Not sure why, but call me JJ.

There was an article in a local paper about just this problem the other week.

Apprently a lot of companies are now removing email contacts altogether, or finding new ways of better responding.

On a different apporach, I'm about to go work for a company that only handles customer service and sales querrys by email.
