Any side shots of this F-18?
I've never seen a Marine F-18 painted as such, hard to tell the squadron it is from.

Good shot, looks like one of the older F-18 models maybe even one of the ones I built.

Good catch I don't think the speed brake paint is SOP, is it? It's a great idea, though.

Well it's not the color we sent to the customer right off the assembly line but I like anyway as well.

Who'd you work for? I worked at Teledyne Ryan in San Diego and we subbed to Northrop building engine bay doors for these... I worked on a bunch of those doors.

Cut me and I'll bleed Northrop blue or Northrop Grumman blue as we're called now. Worked as a mechanic on the F-18 back in the early 80's, now I sit behind a desk as sitting is much easier on my feet.

Ooooh, Nice! Are you shooting through the fence near the fire station for these or are they kind enough to let you out on the ramp?

Great location but nobody has said anything to you yet? Here I'm at we can't even get within a mile of the air field without being chased off or arrested.

Just noticed from your second picture, that a trainer, regular F-18's are single seater's.

This is a public airport. They pop in to refuel and take a break. This place has a gazebo with picnic tables right next to where they park them. Airport employees are also great and very friendly to us. On Sunday there had to be 30 or more people at some point watching the action.

NICE!

BTW, I'm now a registered Fence Check-er...

Hope to make a photocall some day.

Did you notice that the Heritage Flight Conference is at DM this coming weekend...

Ah welcome to FC :)

Yeah I am debating on going down to DM and shooting, its not open to public but fence shooting is decent I think there.
