send to Canon's Repair Center in IL, or their local service center (Irvine CA)?

hi all, my SD600 recently just suffered from the E18/Len Retract malfunction. Except disassembling it apart, I tried all the other method that I can handle. So now I am considering send it to Canon for repair. Now, does it matter which service center I sent to? I like in LA and on their website they say just send it to the local one in Irvine; meanwhile, after consulting the CSR via phone, he said I could send it to the main center in Elk Groove Village, IL. Does it make a difference, other than shipping cost and time?

All I can tell you is that I got awesome service at Elk Grove, IL. I live in Nevada.
