From yesterday's festival, again these are captive owls. Still with the 1D Mk III and 100-400.

Who can resist this adorable little saw-whet owl? He's cute and he knows it! :cool:

Excellent photos of beautiful animals. How big do the Saw-whet Owls get? I've always had a thing for Barn Owls, though I've never seen one in person. :(

Thanks, the saw-whet is the size of a songbird, like a cardinal. Definitely wins the cuteness factor, which is tough because screech owls are also very cute! Barn owls are very different looking, in almost a ghostly sort of way.
