I went out prowling on the peninsula today for the great horned owls that have been spotted and heard. On my way I almost literally stumbled upon this very pretty :) and cooperative :) :) eastern screech owl. Not only did s/he hang around for a few shots but was even there when I came back on hour later (sans shots of the GHOWs) :(

S/he shows well against that clean background. I'm glad you got a couple of looks between naps. Nice work on the twig and feathers on image #2. I hope to spot some of this bird in the near future...tom
