There isn't much if anything I like about the way nikon designs things, but one thing that canon should copy is the middle squeeze lens cap design.

Are there replacement caps out there for canon lenses that use this design?

Yup. I saw that cap last night selling about half price vs Canon.
Let me check the site.

IMO, they're ugly ;-)a

Yep. Some say "Tamron", some say "Nikon", and some (eBay, IIRC) say "designed for Canon" or some such. All my lenses have lens caps that proudly proclaim "Tamron".

Canon is now the only major lens manufacturer without center pinch caps. All the new Sigma lenses have them now too (and they're very nice...I like them better than Tamron's). I was very pleased with my new Sigma 150mm macro came with the center pinch cap. Of course my Tamron has one, as does my Tokina 12-24.

Most lens caps are universal, they're just specific sizes so you can use the Nikon ones on your Canon lenses.

Look at it as camouflage, to make your gear look not worth taking. Add a couple of Noink camera straps and you're all set!

How could you even suggest such a thing?!?

It's bad enough walking around sporting a Tamron cap on an L-lens, but Nikon... !?!

Do you have any pictures :)

I love the description for the cord....
"It comes with an anti-missing cord that can prevent it from missing."
:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:
Engrish rocks!

Hey i notice that little piece that sticks out for the "anti-missing cord". Will that get in the way of having the cap on with the hood?! That's the main reason I want the pinch cap.
