I am having issues with GIMP on my Mac. I am running version 2.6.7. My problem is that whenever I import a .cr2 raw file from my T2i it appears very pink tinted and nothing I do can change this. I tried uploading the files to my friends Mac with GIMP on it and it did the same exact thing. UFRaw is supposed to already be installed in this version of the GIMP. Does anyone have any ideas what is causing this?

After it loads to Ufraw...can you change the pink tint? Ufraw keeps the last setting it was used.

The pink tint sounds like the camera may not be supported with which ever version was installed. The latest version of UFRaw is 0.17 base on version 0.89 of dcraw. Try upgrading to the latest version from http://ufraw.sourceforge.net/ (external link) if it isn't 0.17 yet.

I had the same problem and couldn't resolve it. Went over to using "RawTherapee" which works very well though is a bit slow on my computer. It has a pretty comprehensive range of options and will transfer the image into Gimp at the press of a button where you can finish it off if you wish.

I maybe being even more stupid than normal, but does GIMP have "File Info" available as Photoshop?
I prefer GIMP (cost if nothing else and there is a lot of else), but use File Info as the final step in my workflow to check the Title, Description, Keywords, etc.

Good news for T2i / 550D users!

GIMP 2.6.9 is now available for Snow Leopard (Mac OS X 10.6):

The big news here is the update to use UFRaw 0.17, which supports (amongst others) the T2i.

Also, UFRaw's lensfun library is now enabled for lens distortion correction.

I just wanted to comment on how to make an HDR image with Gimp.
I found this tutorial and it words out pretty well on many images.

She goes through it pretty fast but it works.

Hi Paulpp, I don't believe Gimp does that natively. You'd have to use a plugin:

Does it exist some plugin for GIMP that enable to apply the same change or sequence of operations to more than a picture? That is something similar to Lightroom.
Please let me know.
Thanks in advance for your help.
Bye

GIMP has a mode called "script follow up" if that is what your referring to.

Just installed... finally something on this forum that might PREVENT me from spending money! LOL!

I'm loving this forum, but I'm already listing out gear I "need" (and I can barely format a decent composition still!).

I just opened the zip file and copied the "Gimp 2.0" folder inside to my "Program Files" folder and confirmed the warning about overwriting files. That adds the Resynthesizer files to all the right directories.

When you start gimp, it then shows up in the "Script-Fu" menu.
