I pretty much use the basic stuff on Gimp but was wondering how to edit out objects in pictures. Nothing special, shot on my old crappy camera, but I want to go back there at sunrise/sunset with a ND filter and the powerlines and pole really seem to detract from the shot. What can i do? Rob

Try putting the Cntrl-Click area in different spots if it doesn't look good. Sometimes you need to change spots for short amounts of the wired depending on what's around it. You can also try the program called Inpaint. XSi with grip, Sigma 18-55 f/3.5-5.6, Sigma 28-70 f/2.8, Canon 100 f/2.8 macro, old but great Canon 300 f/4 L, 430 EX II, Quantaray 900W, broken tripods, White Lightnings, many accessories--former pro film, quit, now back into it for fun

Nothing special, shot on my old crappy camera, but I want to go back there at sunrise/sunset with a ND filter and the powerlines and pole really seem to detract from the shot. What can i do? I actually like the power lines in the picture if you could find a way to frame it so that the power lines accentuate the shapes of the waves going by. Otherwise yeah, google "clone tool gimp" and see what you can do. http://www.flickr.com/photos/n00b_photos/
