only reason why i upgraded was because ISO3200 just didn't cut it for me at some venues..

thanks~ i love the 30D + 17-55 combo, that's why i still shoot with it. the IQ and the overall color is just perfect.

doh! sorry to hear that. hope you get the 30D back soon! was it because of the shutter that's giving you the E99?

If I didn't have my 1D as my primary body, I'd pick up the 17-55 for my 30D. Makes way more sense though for me to pick up a EF lens, so I can use it on either of my bodies.

I sent it in yesterday, they called me TODAY, telling me the price and asking for a card to pay with. I asked them for an estimate on when I'd have it back, and they said I should have it back by Wednesday or thursday! Great turn around time.

It was going to cost $240, but since I have CPS, silver level, It's only $177. Which includes overnight shipping back to me. And, no doubt helps my turnaround time in repairing. So I'd guess since it costs that much, it's probably the shutter which failed.

Started in DSLR with my Canon 30D, love it. It does the job, use it mostly for Sports, Nature and Landscape photography. Someday, Maybe will upgrade to better body i.e. full frame, for now the 30D Does the job.

My Canon 20D barely gets used now ever since I bought a Canon 1D MKII :(

Got to use it last week and at ISO 3200 it isn't as bad as I thought it would be:
