I used to own a 20D (my first DSLR) but was frustrated with the tiny LCD screen and bulk of it all (lenses, etc.). I was learning so it was helpful to review my mistakes/successes right away. I sold my Canon system (didn't know how good I had it!) to explore Micro Four Thirds systems for awhile. While my Olympus E-PL1 is fun and portable as a "daily shooter", I missed the performance and ruggedness of my old Canon setup for more demanding photography. As I was going back through my old photos, the ones that really grabbed me all happened to be shot on the ol' 20D with 50mm 1.4 lens. So....

I found a great deal on a 30D + kit lens, should be here today! Best of both worlds. Back to lusting after L glass....

You should really enjoy the much larger screen on the 30 over the 20......welcome back to Canon.

Thanks! My "new" 30D showed up and it's in mint condition. The plastic is still on both screens, and nothing in the box was opened. Everything looks brand new, I totally scored.

The larger screen really does make a difference, I'm glad I decided to get a 30D instead of another 20D.

Now to buy some faster glass....

The first time I've used my 20D since April when I bought a 1 series.

It took me a few minutes to feel comfortable shooting with it. This shot from a winter circuit rally, 20D & Sigma 50-500mm.

I got my 20D (wht 18-55mm) recently and my first real time shooting it was this, in the snow:

IMAGE: http://i53.tinypic.com/2lvjqpz.png

Photo not shot by me, that ÍS me, haha!
I know it's not a good picture, but it's always cool and love those kinda pictures. Hand held shot, photoshopped by me.

As I see the picture now, it doesn't even look very sharp, a bit blurry rather. It was shot at 1/250, is that too slow? Maybe 1/400 would've been better, but I was afraid the DOF would get too thin if I'd get a faster shutter speed and thus higher aperture.
