Nick - was any noise reduction software used on those ISO 3200 concert shots? They are amazing as well. What setting for white balance did you have your 20D set to for those concert shots?

Yeah, the 20D was the shizz. Awesome camera - there's no image the 30D or 40D can make that it can't. And at today's prices, it's such a bargain.

I just sold mine to my cousin. Mine was sitting around playing backup to my 5D and 1D, but she will use it well - it's just started a new life :p. Here's one of my 20D shots:

I'm justan amatuer having fun, but the camera is way better than I am. Both with 70-200 f4L. #1, is an F-22 Raptor at Oshkosh 2008. #2, is at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in 2008.

The only noise reduction was the default amount Lightroom does when I import a RAW file, which is "color: 25"

White balance was adjusted after in everyshot. It's way too hard to get white balance right out of camera. Too many different coloured lights.

I posted this in a few other threads but here is how good the files can look at 100% if exposed properly at ISO 3200

....yep...I still love the images I get from my 20D. It works well next to the 50D and the D30. Getting ready to pick up a 1DS.....and I think the 20D will play well with the full frame also. Image from 20D with 70-200L.

The 20D is still a fine camera, although mine sees less use now that the Mk III has joined the family.

Here are a couple that I thought show off the high ISO capabilities, catching dancers in mid-air is no simple task.

I LOVEEEEE my 20D
I still just go to it, just to hold it. It was my first Canon love and will hold a special place in my heart forever.
Everyone should own one.

I love my 20D. I still treat it with TLC. I am still learning and trying to improve with this one.

My 20D's still a fantastic camera... hasn't seen significant usage since I bought a bigger camera but the rare times I use it as a backup it still takes just as great photos as ever.

ISO 1600 can be clear as anything if you get it right in-camera...

I love mine. I have only had it about 4 months, bought it new at a steal! The colors are so warm!

I have found good success with AI Servo and the 20D.

Here is an example from an air show this summer...too bad this was midday and the lighting was so harsh.

Come on, the classic XXD camera without its own "love' thread? That is a shame and not deserving of the camera that really started it all in the XXD line for Canon. The 20D was the real breakthrough camera that the 10D could not be due to performance issues. The 30, 40 and 50D have simply added onto the platform that really started with the venerable 20D.

Performance-wise, this camera still holds its own in my eyes.....from speed of operation, high ISO performance, max shutter speed, frames per second and on and on.

You agree?
