I took 300 photos of kids at an Ice Fishing derby last week. First, it was friggen cold.

Second, I was hired by the organization to take promo pics for their website, etc. I was also promoted as the official photographer and they said I could sell anything I wanted.

I put the pics on my site for sale and passed out a card to everyone I shot.

I get a call today from a mom who is on my website.

She asks" What are those funny words in the middle of the picture? My kid can't see the fish he caught very well."

The word is "PROOF" and it is there just enough to be an annoyance, not huge.

She wanted to know how to download the picture without the words on it. LOL

I told her she could have as many as she wanted but she would need to buy one. "Click" goes the phone.

Oh well.

Does your site make it obvious that you are SELLING images?, or is it possible that parents think they are just being displayed for their enjoyment.

Always market for the dumbest person you know - and then realise that you do not know their even more stupid kid brother

The prices are at the top of each picture, etc.
I make it so simple that even I can follow it.

Ain't that the truth. Just when you think you've dumbed it down enough, along comes someone to prove you wrong.

Yep that sounds along the line of my wife and myself experience so far. We place an on craigslist and it has her website. Yet they still ask everything we have listed on the site and we've resorted to just telling them over the phone. Seems no matter the length you go to give your possible customers the information they need it just goes over their head somehow.
