Im fairly new to still photography, and am a firm believer in doing as much research and reading up on my hobbies as possible. I was in my local bookstore looking at the photog magazines and was wondering which ones y'all liked best.Im leaning towards American Photographer and a couple of others to subscribe too.JD

Never argue with an idiot. They drag you down to their level, then beat you with experience.

I subscribe to Popular Photography and Imaging and I occasionally buy Outdoor Photographer from the news stand. OP is a much more in depth publication where PopPhoto is more of a variety magazine. Still it has good and interesting articles.

I tend to like the English magizines a lot better than American ones. They tend to get into the How-To of making a shot rather than just putting some copy to nice pictures.

Digital Photo world
Digital Camera
Digital Photo

They are expensive!! about $13 each issue. But you don't have to reverse engineer anything. They will tell you straight out.

I change subscriptions yearly as I get a card in the mail and the price for the year is insane to pass up. But my favorite magazine hands down is the EOS Magazine from the UK. It costs a fortune, no discounts, but it has only information about Canons and the articles are useful and new gear is covered every time. I have them from 2004. Good resource and reference.

My children and grandchildren are the reason, but it's the passion that drives me to get the perfect image of everything.

I always check Digital Photography out when I'm at the airport. I buy it occasionally. But the EOS Magazine costs about $59 a year for 4 issues.

I really like Digital Camera World from the UK. It cost $14.00 per copy at Barnes and Noble, but it's definitely worth the money. Each issue comes with a CD with monthly tips on using Photoshop and PS Elements. The Feb issue also came with a smaller magazine called Digital Darkroom Techniques. I also like Outdoor Photographer.

I subscribe to Outdoor Photographer as well, and enjoy it. I also subscribe to EOS Magazine which is pretty cool, but its quarterly, not monthly.
