Just wanted to send a heads-up regarding my experience the last four days with ordering directly from SterlingTEK.

Last Friday I placed an order for 2 BP-511A equivalent batteries. As of Monday, I had not received an order confirmation or shipment confirmation from them but the charge was on my credit card.

I sent an email on Monday morning inquiring about the status of my order and the following morning, I had a reply from them. The rep stated in the reply "We are sorry but these batteries are on backorder. We do not expect to have more available for several weeks. We will hold your order and ship when they become available or you can cancel at any time by email or by calling us."

So..... I wrote back and requested that they cancel my order as I needed the batteries much sooner. I then proceeded to order two batteries elsewhere.

Less than two hours later I received an email back from SterlingTEK stating "We are sorry. We cannot cancel your order since we received more of the batteries in stock and have already shipped yours to you."

So.... needless to say, I flipped out. I wrote back and insisted that they "cancel the order immediately and refund my money asap. I have already ordered elsewhere and will refuse their shipment if it arrives at my house".

The next day I had a response stating that they would refund my payment and cancel my order..... guess what FedEx delivered that afternoon?

Maybe you should have gave them more time before calling them about the order, usually it takes a few business days depending where you are.
I'vs bought fromm them and it came with 5 business days.

Perhaps. When I sent my original email, I was just asking them for an estimated ship date. Their response regarding a several week backorder (not mentioned anywhere on their website) was what startled me.

that's odd.

i placed an order for 4 BP-511's and 4 batteries for my HG10 camcorder ... enough to get it above $60 to get the "free" FedEx shipping.

the NEXT DAY, the items showed up. i was quite impressed.

SterlingTEK has always been good to me and I am in Canadaland. shipping times are average compared to anything else I've ever ordered from south of the border.

bad experience with sterlingtek as well. They sent me the wrong item, I returned it asap and since I'm not from USA they don't refund my shipping fee. It's been three weeks since I sent the items back, they said they haven't received it.

I've only ever heard great things about them which is what surprised me about the whole situation. Just wanted to see if anyone else was having issues.

I think the communication between shipping and ordering may have crossed. I ordered at least 8 batteries from them and they've always shipped quickly and batteries are great. Sorry you had trouble.
