First try with flash/umbrella outside.

All shots taken with 30D, 70-200 2.8L and Canon 580ex II shot through umbrella, camera left. C&C welcome.

i think you did very well. she's very pretty, unique. the lighting setup seems to be pretty spot on, and great attention to lack of shadows, which is very hard to achieve with a one light setup as this. only nitpick is the same issue i just had with a recent shoot, is lack of changing in expressions, which is not your models fault but just something to look into. i'm preaching to myself in this post as well ;)

great work, look forward to seeing more of your posts.

How did you meter? Lighting looks very flat. Nice expression and posing though.

I'm working on giving instructions on posing, but i feel its kind of hard. I guess it will come with some practice.

I had both camera and flash on manual and looked at the histogram.

Nice work. I am not good with lighting so I can't really comment there but I like everything else. The 1st and 3rd are my fav's. Thanks for sharing. :)

Thanks! Im a beginner when it comes to this type of photography, It's a lot different from shooting cars or motorbikes :)
