I made a panorama with autopano pro (quite big) and the jpg wouldn't open in photoshop because there were too many pixels horizontally so i converted it to tiff using acdsee and opened it in photoshop, did some work to it but now it won't let me save it as a photoshop document, jpeg or anything other than tiff, dicom, photoshop raw, or large document format. the file is 8 bits.. i converted it to 16 bits but still won't let me save in any other format. i need to be able to save this as a compressed jpg or i wont be able to send it to anyone.. thanks!

I've never used ACD so I can't comment on whether that does something to the file but I would highly doubt this.

Have you check your color mode to ensure that it didn't accidentally get set to LAB or something else that will affect your save options. I can't think of anything else right now.

My life is like one big RAW file....way too much post processing needed.

Do you have layers in the image. If so you will have to flatten before you can save as a jpeg.

Try changing from 16bit to 8bit. Image > mode> 8bit

it is in 8bit mode already and was originally, tif was made from converted jpg, color is rgb, and there are no layers, image has been flattened and resaved as a tif.

Saving a layer file as a jpeg will automatically flatten the image in the save process. There is no need to flatten yourself but there is no harm either.

If it has any layers, embeded selects or paths, you will have to discard them before it can convert.

Strange problem. Have you tried "save as"?

My guess is that same size limitation that wouldn't let you open it, will only let you save it in formats that support that many pixels

you are correct, i cropped it down to see and was able to save it. its 32,424 pixels wide so i guess i'll have to resize it to save it to jpg since theres nothing i can crop, thanks
