Oh and your souvenirs, in celebration of your new 100, the first two were done with tubes and the 100 and my first attempt at refractions:

These are excellent. Really, I can't say enough about them. It's an area where I personally am not good but I love looking at them. NICE JOB!

I have to tell you the story of my 100-400... I purchased the third 100-400 to come into my local camera store in January of 1999. (This lens was one of the reasons I chose Canon over Nikon in the first place.)

boy, I don't know that I would have had the patience you did for all that. How frustrating. It must not have had that part for a long time! Glad it's working for you now though.

GAAA!!!! A few posts down is a member whose name is "THE HOFF"! His title is funny though.

You know, he starts his review threads with "the Hoff's review of..." and every time I see one, I just shudder...I can't help it

I don't know if this will be of a size to tell anything but here goes.

These are great. They really turned out well and your background seemed to work perfectly. OOC, how small does it fold down to?

Permi the backing was real neat it was so easy and it was a good size when open and when cosed up it came in a nifty holding case it is about the size of a large beach ball around but only a couple inches think .It would be great for taking with ~and easy stored

wow, that's really cool. If I was doing studio work, that would be something I'd look into...just for ease. I have a studio list in case I ever get lucky enough to have my own :) so I'll put those on that list.

the one thing I really want but have absolutely NO NEED for are those spiderlite TD3 & TD5....I LIKE the idea of using constant lite...but unless I can get Dan to move all the stuff out of the garage so I can put a studio in there, I don't need 'em.

This morning at work I went to Java City for my grande (equivalent to Starbucks' Venti) nonfat mocha no whip. When I got there, five other people were in line in front of me. I waited my turn, got my mocha, paid, had my card stamped (one more and the next is free), then walked back to my department. On the way back it dawned on me. Not one single one of us in line actually told the woman who works there what we wanted. In fact, she was one step ahead of everyone and already had our order ready when it was our turn to step up to the counter. There are over 3,000 employees at the hospital where I work and she knows what all the regulars get by memory and starts making it as soon as she sees us walk in the door.

And I'm not really a regular visitor, either. I only go there once every week or two... She's good!

Permi I think you lost me on the lights ..LOL
But the backings are well worth it for the ease of use and compactness of storing them .
I have yet to explore the world of flash and light ..hahaha its not ready for me yet :)

Permi it is really light, folds up like deb said, a 24" circle with its own carrying case. I really like it!!

the room we were in is bright, we lit the backdrop with a small floor spot light at camera right and I had my 420 off the camera with a bounce card on camera left. I was pleased, tho now that I look at the proof I see I need to brighten Rina's photo up a bit.

Deb I want to edit that shot a bit, it barely does justice to those amazing eyes Matt has. They are seafoam green.

The one that impressed me the most was about 20 years ago when I went to a restaurant near Anaheim with my brother, my mother, step-dad, an aunt and two step-sisters (seven of us total). After we'd looked at the menus for a while, the waitress came over to get our orders, going around the table to each of us, asking things like "how would you like that prepared?", "would you like xxx with that?", etc. The usual routine. When she was finished with our table, she moved to the next table over where a family of four was seated, and got their orders too.

The whole time she never wrote a single thing down! She wasn't even carrying a pad and paper with her! And she didn't screw a single order up, either... Twenty-some-odd years later and I'm still amazed!
