I was here today.... It's such a shame that over here in the UK, we're invariably not allowed to photograph inside stately homes etc...

Nice Pete! You live in a beautiful country, WAY too many rules but beautiful. Why can't you shoot in homes and what does etc include. I must admit here it has gotten a bit dodgy taking pictures of a bridge:rolleyes:

I think it's a property issue. Basically, the trusts that own these houses want to protect their property so that they control photographs taken inside the houses. There's also the fact that people taking pictures can cause nuisance to other visitors.

It's a rule that I can happily respect, just putting the camera away and enjoying the heritage.

Nice Deb, I hope to get to some macro stuff this afternoon. I have fabulous light that comes in around 4:30 or so and gives me an area to work with.

And you smell better, too! now, let's get an avi suited to the title.;) I guess you could ask Pudsy to whip one up, if you don't want to shoot a self portrait or explain everything to Leyla.:D

 I explained it to her already. She told me to put my manties on and deal with it:lol:

Much funniness with the title change.

I imagine it is. We didn't see the grounds at their best (summer time). It still looked lovely though...

The weather forecast for today was not looking good so I had resigned myself to a day on the sofa reading "20 Fragments of a Ravenous Youth" and "A Concise Chinese - English Dictionary for Lovers"

As it turned out it was a lovely day so I headed off to Mallory Park to watch some club motorcycle racing. It was a great day, a first chance to try the 1Ds Mk III under pressure (great quality but frame rate and focus is really not up to it)

All in all a top day before yet another silly busy week working :-(

Couple of pics for rant value.....
