Did I ever tell you about the time I stored a Visual Basic project for a well-known program I developed for a small community centered around a simulation program? This was back in the Win95 days.
One day, Windows was acting kookie, so, I started to reinstall. Now, not wanting to lose my valuable data files, I deltree'd the windows directory as a way of starting over after booting for a DOS disk. I saw my project files flash by and turned ghostly white, and felt sick. I just annihilated the all of the source code for the project, including a major update with several important bugfixes in it. People were waiting for those bug fixes. Anxiously waiting. I updated the site with a solemn message of regret. I vowed never to store anything important on the desktop again.
That was, of course until Windows XP came out and stored your desktop in your user folder.
