Thanks. They're mostly just snapshots, but I wanted to get something on my web site with pictures of Minnie. We'll be heading to Northern California in two weeks, and I wanted to test the waters with her to see how she would do on a fairly long car ride first.

Lonnie where up North ?My sis in law is from Cresent City , I've been ,also to the redwoods :) Have you ever been there before?

The pictures from the little trip Minnie and I took last Thursday are online now. You can see them here (external link), if you'd like.

I like these Lonnie, nice to see Minnie out and about. The colors are really nice in these, did you use a polarizer? What was the temperature?

She did great. Better than I was expecting her to, even.

I went through the redwoods last year on my way home from the Oregon trip. Ashley and I spent a night in Crescent City. But in two weeks, Minnie and I will be going up to Jackson and Placerville to work a little more on the cemeteries up there. I'll most likely be getting together with Suzi again at some point during the trip.

Yep, I used a polarizer on those. The weather wasn't too bad. It's still kind of chilly in the mornings in that area (about 42F right now), but during the day it gets up into the upper 70s or low 80s. Give it another month and we'll be well above 100 until October...

My name is Lonnie, but I answer to Thomas too.

Report is running so I came in here while I'm waiting. Glad I did, these are nice Lonnie. Have you cut an hour or better off your trip time into the desert by moving to your new digs?

Minnie looks quite content being out and about with you. She is a lucky girl. Oh and looks like you were able to build quite an aresenal for the Abandon and Funny Signs threads.:D

Yep, just about an hour. Red Rock Canyon and the ghost towns we went to are all about 60 or so miles north of me now. When I lived in the Valley, that was about a 120 or 130 mile trip, each way. They're much closer now...

Yep, that I did! I already posted a bunch in those threads, too. :D

I refuse to call him that. He is "The Annoying Thing" (external link)

"Crazy Frog" was just a name attached to the critter by the producers of obnoxious ringtones.

Oh, yeah, I suppose I should disclaim that as mildly NSFW...

Wow. Talk about environmental impact.. (external link)

Though, in a way, it kinda reminds me of the EPA weasel in Ghostbusters.

Isn't that kind of dangerous? I used to read under the blankets with a torch as a kid

LOL. Never realized that. My niece has him on her phone and that's about all I know.

No more dangerous than the 500W Shoplight I have stuffed in a closet somewhere (not plugged in, obviously)

Check out some of their lasers.. Some reach enough wattage to light cigarettes, cut black electric tape, etc...

Sooooo... hypothetically, if we were to be discovered by an extraterrestrial species, and they wanted to communicate with us at large. Would we give them access to the Earth's Internet? And by virtue of that, would we be able to access their networks? Would I be able to download the latest headlines from Rigel 7?
