Thanks Terri, for this shot, I too like the warmer look. That is the top of my file cabinet at work, it is in front of the right side of my desk, gives me something soothing to look at when the stresses of the day begin to wear on my brain. :D;)

After playing with the corn syrup for an hour, my back was giving me fits from the positions I was in  so, I decided to play with my lights A'la Puddle :)

I like both the neutral grey and the target wb best myself but it is a preference thing. Cute table set up :)

I will have to shoot my office walls one day. They are covered with Jaiydann :)

Those flowers ala Dan, are outstanding, Terri. Nice and sharp and very cool light.

Ok Becky here is a full shot of the shadow box I was shooting earlier.... :) Mom sent it home with me to play with. She told me that my grandmother bought it in Chinatown in San Francisco somewhere around the early 1940's.

Thank you Lisa and Becky :D

I shot everything today with my 60mm-I haven't used it in a while, I fell in love with it all over again today!

I was all over the place today, put over 100 miles on my car for no real reason...I went to see that abandoned ferry but couldn't get close enough to shoot it, but I did go off roading in an attempt! I also saw a hawk (didn't have a long lens with me) and then we went for a nice drive along the hudson river.

They dump bodies there don't they?

Ok, so I read an article about using corn syrup on acrylic as a way to shoot flowers. I figured it was simple enough

Cool, 2 is my favorite. You can experiment with indirect light reflected from a sheet or the walls. It will be less bright but you have a tripod you can use a longer shutter. A sheet can still be reflected and don't mix light sources so you don't get an odd color reflection in the drop. Use Manual focus to focus on the drops.

As promised, I have this test of the Target using flourescent lighting:

1 feels best 4 looks most accurate.

Ok, so I read an article about using corn syrup on acrylic as a way to shoot flowers. I figured it was simple enough  to give it a shot.
Needless to say, after wrestling my makeshift studio into place, it took another 20 minutes or so to get Daisy seated properly to commence.
I was happy with what I was seeing on the LCD, but did not realize until I popped them onto the 'puter that I had reflections of my lights in my refractions of my flowers
Obviously, some practice is in order. Judge for yourselves;

Tried something a little different here

And then decided to go a little 'out there' for this one

Anyone who can shed some light (lol, get it? light? rofl I crack myself up) on how to keep the light out of my corn syrup, I would appreciate it!

Terri!!! ::sniffling:: Athena would be so proud!

I like the target adjusted shots myself, but I tend to not like warm images. Does that mean I'm in touch with my inner B?

:D Zane

Thanks for the tips, I had thought about using some sort of reflected light, but quite honestly, haven't a clue on how to do that

I hope so...or hope someone does...I don't want her to go to the shelter...no one adopts females (that aren't baby kitties) from the shelter. She's too sweet to not have a long life.
