OK I'm having a blond moment...is there another Jen?

Yep, JenB from New Mexico-Zane and I were chatting with her last night. Her POTN name is JB_browneyes.

Terri!!! ::sniffling:: Athena would be so proud!

I was thinking of her the whole time I was shooting this :( I really miss her!

Skrim17 wrote in post #5268479 (external link)
Does that mean I'm in touch with my inner B?

*snicker*

:D Zane

Thanks for the tips, I had thought about using some sort of reflected light, but quite honestly, haven't a clue on how to do that

Shine the lights up, back, where ever to cast light everywhere evenly instead of a spot on the subject. If you don't have a white wall hang a white sheet and shine your light through it or at it. Keep in mind this can still make a hot spot that may show. Shooting reflective stuff is a b.

Becky, nice job on the Ring Necked Ducks. I've always thought their name was odd too.

Hmmmm, looks like I hit a multi quote and forgot and haven't hit the reply button in awhile.

Anyway, I think it must be from the distinct differece in feather color from the head into the body.

Mom sent it home with me to play with. She told me that my grandmother bought it in Chinatown in San Francisco somewhere around the early 1940's.

Pretty, can you tell if it is a carving or is it paper cutting. Both are an art form.

:D Wow! I think the last time I was an inspiration one of my kids slammed a door

This particular technique is really Athena's specialty. My blundering doesn't come anywhere CLOSE to what she has done.

It is a cork carving. It's insanely detailed... I just took a few more shots of it... :) They take me a while to PP tho because I PP our all the crap that has collected on the inside of the glass.... specks of stuff that REALLY show up in macro! :p

Photographs are records of life. Pity they don't make music when you put them in a record player. :p
