Simba was the name of the male lion. You should use the female name Nala.

thomascanty wrote in post #5287750 (external link)
I'd have to explain it to everyone. Nobody remembers that one, but you mention Simba and everyone knows who you're talking about.
Yup.

My dog's name is Nala, she's cool.

I just spent a half hour on the phone with the director of the museum that owns the Jewish cemetery I was hoping to get into and photograph when I head north on Sunday. Looks like this may turn into a paying gig. I wasn't expecting that... :D

Sweet...;)

Hey Lonnie, how's the baby doing?

She was out exploring earlier, but she's back under the bed right now. I tried to get a couple pictures of her while she was on the kitty condo, but I haven't loaded them onto the computer yet, so I don't know if they came out. The other cats are starting to come back out of their shells, too. Tupper was at the screen door watching birds a little while ago and Crystal was in my lap, licking my hands while I tried to type at the computer. At least those two aren't hissing at me any more.

I'm here for about 15 minutes then off to our nephews band concert - (Middle School or Junior High depending on where you are from or what generation).

Lonnie: Cool on the paid gig!

Thanks. I'm really curious to see how things turn out eventually. The money would still be a bit in the future, but it could turn out to be a good chunk of change. He's writing a book about Jewish Pioneers in the gold rush era and wants me to visit all of the cemeteries the museum owns or controls and get pictures to illustrate the book. We haven't discussed any terms yet, but he did mention "a share of the royalties" (instead of my usual flat rate). Since he's a well known museum director, I have a feeling that will probably come out to quite a bit more than my usual flat rate...

Best... TR... Ever!

Awwww, gee... BTW, your mother is a very nice lady. You must take after your dad. :p

I've met a few dozen POTN members, but I think she was the first POTN mom I met...

Best? Whoa.

Mom is nice. Or, shall I say, has the potential to be nice. If I do take after my dad, then I'd be a happy man!

Oh, and when you met Mom, you also met a POTN grandmother. Both my kids are on here, too.

WooHoo! Curt just went off to his first substitute teacher assignment.

I didn't know of this. I'm glad he's found something. I've often wondered about going into teaching. I'm not sure I would do well with the politics that come with it....

BearLeeAlive wrote in post #5284496 (external link)
The average wage of full and part-time teachers in Alberta last year was $67,800.

OK, let me clarify. For that much I might take some politics....

Are ya feeling like your done anyways? The mouse keeper is getting lonely

Yup, yup, yup.

Permagrin wrote in post #5285119 (external link)
This is the longest I've been away from Dan since he was in the coast guard (20 years ago)

Yep, longest apart since '88. Oh, BTW, I would've retired back in '02. I've already been through that crisis.

Annie, I like that. My friends have a dog named Annie.

Now, see? If I could get a dog, put a pack on him, he could carry my camera gear for me! Ooo, a plan!

HEY ALL!!!

Looks like we will be moving before the weekend, at the rate we are going. Time to take inventory and hide the leg lamps.

Guess I better take some shots for the new place....

no I am going to be the third shooter at a wedding Saturday.

Is it distracting you? :D

I apologise for not going out there with a spitty hanky and wiping his chops before taking his portrait...

Me thinks you're being sarcastic. Just a guess, mind you, but I'm pretty sensitive to that kind of thing.
