How cool is this?

Nope she will want to be with you and when I am in a tent I like my mutt right their to tell me if something is wandering outside the tent. You could bring it in your tent like a little tent crate for her
When Jinx tents with us she is very edgy and won't cuddle or anything even if it's really cold. She just lays in a little round ball and listens to whats going on outside.
I'd do pretty much anything for a brownie.
Ah huh
Its nice to know that some breeders are so careful about their dogs. I must only hear about the backyard breeders. Serious dog breeding is not a big thing around here, I don't think.
Most breeders are that careful about their dogs and yes there are many in your state. The problem is we are bombarded by ads from animal "welfare" groups that are trying to raise money for their anti meat, anti pet, anti hunting, campaigns. When you send that check to help poor fluffy you saw on TV looking sad a large portion of that money is often used for legislative action that has nothing to do with shelters. Shelters are "welfare" groups cash cow to fund their real objectives. Don't get me wrong I have adopted all my pets from various places and they have all been mutts including some of the horses. Adopted pets are great. On the other side there is nothing wrong with getting a pure bred especially if you want it for the attributes it is known for, just don't buy the cheapest one you can find. I know many people that use their dogs for very specific purposes and want a dog bred to be best suited for that purpose.
We're coming at it from two directions. I do Pekingese rescue; we work with (and several of our club members are) breeders. And my sister and brother-in-law breed Labs.
And if you hear about bills in your legislature that are supposed to regulate irresponsible breeders, look very closely at them. The ones that are being pushed around here (by PETA and HSUS) won't do a thing about irresponsible breeders (either one-offs or puppy mills), but will hit the responsible breeder-exhibitors who are trying to improve the breed.
Yup they are shams. They are almost always an effort to push their vision a meatless petless society. Keep in mind The humane society of the united states is different from your local animal shelter that may go under the name humane society. They are a giant animal rights organization hiding behind a familiar name. Their knee jerk reaction to end horse slaughter houses will cause the suffering, neglect, and inhumane killing of many horses as well as tap funds used to help wild horses. Our club has 4 vets as members including a canine neurosurgeon. We have large state of the art kennels and great feeding programs as well as a full time and part time professional kennleman who lives on site and cares for the hounds. Legislature pushed by these groups under the guise of stopping puppy mills would close many such facilities but do little to effect puppy mills.
Not a rant just a, well, okay it was a rant but I get really mad at clueless people claiming me and everyone I know are somehow cruel to animals because we didn't adopt a sick disturbed animal or because I had a chicken for dinner.
