Rainy day, and home sick from work, so decided to play around a bit...

This is a gemstone put on a sunset background to create a macro landscape.

Worth pursuing and sharpening my skills at? Or is this just silly? I can't decide...

at first glance it looks like mountains, but closer examination you can tell what it is. nice shot though anyways.

quite effective - weakest part is the rounded mountain with red in it near the right edge. Definitely worth pursuing.

I like the concept. Perhaps play with the white balance a little more to get the stone's tones to match the sky?

Thanks, guys. With my wife being a "rock hound", I have a lot of different stones I can try doing landscapes with, so perhaps I will give some more tries...
