I'm looking for a case for my G9 that is essentially just a sleeve. I don't want pockets or straps and prefer no zippers. I like to carry the camera in my coat pocket and just need enough protection to keep it from getting scratched by keys, pens or spare change.

A stretchy slip-on sleeve with no zipper, pockets or flap would be perfect.

Does anyone know of anything?

Thanks CJ. I'm familiar with this thread and the one it references. Neither thread answers the topic I've posted here.

You can fashion a slip-case using an old sock. Have the local seamstress reduce it's length to work.

Hi Bob,

While this may not be what you are looking for, I use a Mountainsmith Flash medium. It does have a velcro flap and a removable strap, but is not much larger than the camera. I have used it in my coat to store the camera with the flap open. The camera just slides in and it doesn't seem to loose it's shape either.

Another option would be to look into something like one of these neoprene pouches: http://www.seatosummit.com/products/display/58 (external link)
The 6x3 should fit the G9.

Seriously, I was thinking the same thing earlier today.

Thanks Jeff.

The mountainsmith one looks pretty similar in size to the Lowepro D-Pods 30, which is the smallest one I've found so far. The D-Pods 30 would almost be perfect if there were no belt loop or front pocket ... and even better if didn't have a flap.

You could always try a neoprene bootie. Maybe cut free the ankle/heel section. Kids'/Ladies' size perhaps.

You may want to take a look at the Zing pouches:

It uses a drawstring to close.

Op Tech also makes a bunch of neoprene cases:

The Op-Tech ones look interesting. I'll have to see if there is a local camera store that carries them.

I use a small, soft Nikon binoculars case. The camera fits perfectly. The case does have a velcro flap and belt loop but they hardly change the profile at all.

Do you know the model number of the case or of the binoculars that it fits?

It's not very elegant but I have been using a heavy duty bubblewrap bag, folding the flap over and carrying the g9 in my pocket. It slides in your pocket easily and adds very little bulk overall.

Bob, it came with 8x25 Trailblazer binoculars. I'd google for it or check with online binoculars dealers. Even if it's sold with the binoculars, you'd think there would be a replacement part number. There are two on B&H for this size binoculars, but neither is the same as mine.

Before you spend time searching, you might look for the binoculars in a store and check out the case. But to me it's just perfect.
