I am just learning to use my new S3 IS. It came with the Canon Software Zoombrowser EX 5,6. For the life of me, I can't figure out how to get it to print multiple pictures on a single sheet. This was VERY easy to do with the Kodak EasyShare software. So far, I can only print a full size print per page.

Also, when reading posts, I notice the abbreviation PP. This is probably NOT Power Point.

Thanks for helping a newbie.

I don't normally use Zoom browser, but I don't recall it capable of printing multiple images on a single sheet.

PP is an abbreviation for Post Processing, or editing your images on your computer.

5.6 is an outdated version. Download the 6.x version from the Canon site.

I never used ZoomBrowser for printing, but you can print what they call a Layout

  • Open zoombrowser in the desired folder
  • Select several pictures with Ctrl + mouse click
  • On the left pane select Print>Layout Print>Open Layout print…

You will get multiple pictures per page, and you may choose from several ‘decoration’ styles as well.

Zoombrowser 6 is a huge file upgrade that I have not downloaded yet.

Be sure that ZoomBrowser 5.6 is working fine before attempting an update.

Good luck

Thanks to all who responded. I have discovered that PhotoShop Elements and Paint Pro Shop are installed in some of the computer labs at the college where I teach. This is cool! I can try them out for free before deciding which one to go with.

Doug, I went to the Canon site and typed in my type of camera, and it told me there was not an update. I'm guessing the 6.0 won't work for my S3 IS although one of the download sites( not canon site) said it was.

rpolitsr: When I opened up my left pane, layout was not an option. Nuts!

The version is listed on the S3 support page for the US site: ZoomBrowser EX 6.0.1c Updater. You didn't actually choose an operating system in the selection box, did you?

Just to be sure, you must click Print before Layout Print appears.

When you click Layout Print, in the next window there is the button Open Layout Print… that starts another Canon Utility: PhotoRecord.

Both ZoomBrowser (ver 4.6) and PhotoRecord (ver.2.0) came with my Pro1 in the ‘Digital Camera Solution Disk’. It had also other utilities and drivers that were installed by an autorun installer.

I guess you will need PhotoRecord installed for the Layout buttons to work or even appear.

Anyhow, if you are planning to buy some Adobe software, you will get better printing tools from them.

I have printed multiples per page using Zoombrowser. It is easy to update ver.5xx to the current one. I have an older program that came with something I bought a few years ago - maybe my G2 or something.

Anyways Canon Easy Photo Print is a great little program for printing pictures. It is so easy to use that I keep it around, even though the hardware it came with is long gone. I use V. 3.3.0. In there you have the option of printing in a number of different sizes, copies per page, with or without border, custom sizes etc.

I have quite a few Canon software programs installed on my computer. I install everything to C:/Canon/"ProgramName" Now when I open Zoombrowser and go to print something, it lists the Canon software installed and gives me the option of opening whichever program I want to use to print the pics.
Cool!
I like it and it works great for me.

Have you checked the Help file in ZoomBrower? or viewed the ZoomBrowser User Guide...?
