I don't know if it is possible in Photoshop, I used to process several files in one operation in Watermark Master. Very handy and simple.

The most common problem is making sure that your watermark is consistently sized for your photos. The way I overcame this is that ALL photos are resized to a width of 500 pixels (instead of just constraining BOTH the width or height to 500 pix) and then sharpened for the web. Then I create the watermark, which in my case is centred on the image - yours can be aligned to the sides/top/bottom etc. Finally I do a second height resize to 500 pixels, which means the image is never larger than 500 pixels in either dimension - this second resize has a very minimal effect on loss of sharpness.
