i have a canon i950 printer and want to print large panoramic photos, hovever i am limited in the driver software to a maximum custom paper size of 594mm for the height. basically the length of 2 A4 sheets end to end.

does anyone know of a way the get around this size limit to allow for "banner" printing from a roll of photographic paper? some of the photos i want to print are upwards of 1 metre long.

thanks

I have the Canon S820 (a lot older than yours) but I think that the drivers are similar...

The only way I've been able to make longer prints longer than 24" it to select banner paper size. The problem is that it forces you into plain paper mode, which isn't the best quality. You can chage the settings back to high quality though.

The only issue is that the printer will leave a fine unprinted line where it expects the fold of the banner paper to be. It's not very noticeable though.

I'd suggest you start out with the 4" wide roll to experiment with.
