Am I late? Here in Kuusamo, North-East Finland time goes so fast (sigh!) when you're on a holiday. Took this pic 14.3. from a nearby swamp. The evil sun is there on the sky, the snow is melting... Temperature's about -10, nice day for skiing. The extreme here is the fact, that in southern Finland there was no winter this year. When I left there about a week ago, it was raining up to my... well a lot!
Here it is still winter at it's best just now, there is a winter-road on a nearby lake. Some extreme after the six month autumn that we had in southern finland... Took an 3 hour ski-trip around the lake today... Anyway, the weather is getting warmer here in north too, it used to be -40 celsius here only about 20 years ago... now it gets -20 if that...

Ok, sorry about the short post earlier on, I've been up to my eyeballs in work today, but I wanted to Give Flo the chance to get the next topic up as soon as possible.......

Well done Flo, your first win of many I'm sure............ I really liked this picture as it fitted the subject superbly, with having to dig out a trench so the chickens could get out, something most of us would not even think about having to do let alone doing it......... Congrats again

There is no 2nd or 3rd place this time as it was far too close to call, as I really did like all the pictures submitted and you all deserve brownie points for taking some cracking pictures....

And as an extra, Welcome to the speed challenge comps LABBAI, sorry you were too late with your entry for it to count in this comp but we look forward to seeing more of your pictures entered in the future :)
