I've noticed that sometimes if I take one photo it appers in the 2 second review ok, then if i take a second photo quickly that shows in the review okay too.
However if I then press play it doesn't show the last image but the one before it? Has anyone else noticed this.

I have, though I thought it was Canon being clever and starting the playback from the first image that hasn't been viewed (discounting the instant review).

from what i can make out it wont let you play an image until it is actually recorded on the card, but if that is true how come you can review the image straight away?

Maybe "Review" comes straight out of the buffer?

The > button shows the last image recorded to the card.. I think Jon os spot on.. the automatic image review is showing what is in the buffer before it is written to the card.

I have not noticed this on the 20D yest.. but with the MkII if I shoot a large burst of raw images, let's say 12,.. and then click the > palyback button.. It will show the 2nd or third image in the burst as that is the most recent one allready written to the card.. then as the images continue to write.. it will continue to scroll throught the remaining images as they are written to the card.. eventually showing my the last of the 12 frames.
