Hey guys. If I buy from these guys, and it says "USA" next to the product, does that mean it's the same product you get when you buy from Circuit City or Best Buy? Is it the real deal. I want to buy the canon 17-40mm f/4L USM lens, and these two companies have the best deals. Just want to make sure it's authentic and not a cheap import.

Thanks for the input!

All Canon lenses are imported. All Canon lenses are the real deal. B&H and Adorama are the real deal. Circuit City and Best Buy should stick to selling TVs. Buy with confidence from B&H or Adorama. Articles that say USA simply have a US warranty...the ones marked import have an international warranty...

You'll find out that B&H Photo is probably the # 1 buyers choice for camera gear on the web.

These lenses still have a warranty as said, but you have to send it back to where you bought and THEY have to send it to get fixed. There's very little price difference, so just get the USA version.

Buy the USA one if you want warranty. The import versions come with international warranty which isn't covered in the US. Also I prefer B&H over Adorama, but they are both reputable dealers

I won't deal with Adorama anymore since they kept selling me things that they didn't really have in stock. B&H won't do that. I love B&H and have been a customer for almost 12 years. My other favorite is 17th Street Photo ... not as slick but reliable!

it is possible to get a good deal from circuit city...you could get the 40D kit from them right now...for about 20 bucks more than b&h...and thats after taxes...and it's in your hands right now as opposed to the 5-7 days of waiting from b&h...so i think your statements a little off there...

If your going to get it from CC don't forget the 8% off coupon from AAA and save even more, that's how I did it. Now that they've lowered the price even more since I bought it I'll have to go back with my receipt and get the difference.:D

For starters, yes, you will get a USA lens. However, a USA lens is exactly the same as an imported lens. The only difference is the warranty.
