Lots of power on that one!! Pretty setting, by golly.

I had an hour to kill late this afternoon, so I drove over to the railroad tracks in hopes of snagging a nice shot or two. It was too hazy, and the wind was blowing hard (as usual), so I left the camera in the trunk.

A train pulled into the station and shut down for a while to wait for a train coming in the opposite direction. I had a nice talk with the engineer who had decided to dismount from the engine and stretch his legs.

Most railroad people are pretty friendly.

Thanks Chief...I chatted with the crew of this train before they left the yard...most of the crew guys are decent...RR security guys are the worst...I swear...most of them have the Barney Fife complex.

Thanks, Scott. :D

I used that little flashlight that we received from that guy at your Photo Club.

Just a small flashlight. The red ones were done with a small laser pointer.

That was what I had wondered if you had used.... I need to find a different little flash light... the one I have is LED and has a very bluish tint to it.... I had fun painting with light when I did my Easter Egg experiment!

Well I'm outta here ya'l!! Work and 15 four year olds will be waiting for me at 8am! Not to mention I need my beauty sleep :p

Moooooooo night!

Set the white balance first with a grey card or a target. Takes the blue away.

Funny you should say that, but the only problems I've ever had were with the railroad police. I had one hassle me bigtime in the Indio yard a couple years ago. He insisted on name, identification, car registration, etc., etc.

After he had carried on with his little power trip for a few minutes, I asked him for his name and badge number, and he freaked. We then had a big debate about whether I was entitled to that information or not, so I told him I didn't really need it since I had his vehicle information. I'm sure the railroad would know who was driving it.

He finally gave me one of those "I'm going to let you go this time" speeches. I think he was absolutely stunned that I wasn't totally compliant, and I probably would have been if I'd been doing anything to give him cause for concern

Old fat guys with expensive cameras taking pictures of rusty freight cars are not a threat to the national security.

I'm not short. I'm concentrated awesome!
