Jennifer, this is what my flashlight with a snoot looks like. In case you were wondering.

Awesome! Looks like S. Oregon...;)

It does look similar to E. Oregon though, really.

Um... right now, that would be really messy. I like the orange and yellow ones together, by the way.

Dood. How many gummies were killed in the making of those photos?

At first, five. Now, however, almost an entire bag. :o

I'm a visual learner so that helps me a ton to see that! Now to get into my scrapbook room and find me some black stock! :p

No, I forgot my cpl at the house...I'll take it for tomorrow. And I did a lot of narrow dof and those turned out really well but I wanted some way to show the glory of the whole thing....

John, we went up to something called Hidden Valley & Keys View. And I was wondering, I saw the Lost Horse Mine sign on the way up to Keys View. My MIL doesn't want me to go wandering there alone and so I said I'd ask if you'd been there, is it safe/easy to access and do you want to go again? (if so I'll wait for you and Heather and do it on Friday).

I've never been to Lost Horse Mine. According to my maps, to get there, you have to go on 0.9 miles of what the map calls "high clearance road" and then hike another 1.9 miles on a trail to get to the mine and most of the trails are soft sand.. I found a reference that might give you more information.

Also, if you like old buildings take the Desert Queen Ranch tour. There are a few restrictions on that tour however. You can't take a tripod and have to stay with the group being herded around by the Ranger. I was able to get some good shots on the tour, however, so you might want to look into it.

One of the places I was planning on taking you was the Wall Street Mill, which is an abandoned gold ore processing facility. It's on about a half mile hike on level ground. Also along the way is the ruins of a dwelling. You can see pictures in my gallery.

that's better...I'm not into almost 4 miles of hiking in 80+ degrees. Sounds good. You can be our tour guide :)
