It's a kind of camera bag. Real heavy duty canvas type. Jon is somewhat of an evangelist when it comes to Domke.

As one might say Puddle's somewhat humorous, or somewhat inclined to understatement . . .

Holy Moo Permie...I have never even seen a hummer sitting still, much less photograph one....cool!!!

Couple of times up on Grandfather at the Nature Center; they've got several feeders out and I've seen the hummers sitting in the nearby trees between visits.

Move to the west coast - they do that all the time at our house.

Yes - I've even seen some in Utah just sitting on the feeder and drinking.

Guess we need a desert here on the eastern half of Oregon...dang hummers here must land and sleep somewhere...but they never do it in view of people...

Almost never. See above.

And purdy flahrs, Wool.

My parents have a dozen or so hummer feeders at their cabin. It isn't unusual to see 50 or more hummers at a time in the area...but I have never seen one land. Common sense tells you that they land all the time...they build nests and have babies. I just have never had the good fortune or the opportunity to see it.

Thanks.

Well, not as much headache and not as much nausea as yesterday when I felt absolutely crap. But still very tired and a bit headache, and when I stand up I'm dizzy and have to lie down. I sleep like crazy during the day. And then in the evening I'm much better, more awake, no dizziness and I canactually watch TV or sit by the computer. During daytime I just can't at all. My eyes just can't focus and my brain won't either.

Just rest and sleep a lot in the next few days. You should be better by then (with help of the medications). Take care ;-)a

When I was a young boy, during the summer hummingbirds would fly into the barn through the open doors. They often tried to fly out through the closed windows, and would fly back and forth across the same window pane. My brother and I used to go to the barn looking for them a couple of times a day between milkings. We could walk up to them and catch them barehanded. We took them outside, cupped in our hands and looked at them for awhile through the gaps between our fingers until they settled down, then opened our hands. They would pause for a moment and then fly off. I loved their beautiful colors.
