US Cellular has better coverage here, but Verizon isn't too bad...and my whole family and most of my friends are on Verizon...so free calling can't be beat.

I have to agree with your happiness about Verizon. The only thing that frustrates me about disabling features, is with smartphones, I pay all the money, I want to use all the features. But as of now, I don't have one so not a big deal. :)

There have been times when I'd rather have a dumb phone or, as I call them, a "No" phone. You know, no music, no e-mail, no internet, no camera, etc., etc. Verizon has one that will only make calls or send text messages, but it still has the same multiple push button method of doing text. That was the prime reason we switched to phoones with a full keyboard. My Razr had white numbers and letters against a silver background which made the letters almost impossible to see, especially for someone with declining eyesight like me.
