If I send 10 text messages a month then that is high. I receive more.

That is a good point... I only send 10'ish a month, maybe 20... but I monitor several networks using a program called Nagios and it sends me a text message when a device goes down or if there is packet loss over time, etc, etc - that gives me many more texts - but nowhere near 1000+

Okay. The signature piece of the Sistine Chapel.

Florence (we climbed the Duomo)

Venice

Ponte & Castel Sant' Angelo

Michaelangelo's 'Pieta'

Wow, Mo. Just wow. Incredible. I love that era or art and architecture. The buildings themselves are pieces of art.

You went into the Sistine Chapel? COOL! How big was it? I've always wondered. Florence is awesome, or so I've heard. Which church is that in Venice? San Marcos? Were were you standing when you took that shot? The Castel Sant' Angelo is a place I've always wanted to go. And, of course, the Pieta.

Thanks for letting us go on your vacation with you vicariously. :D

For that matter, why do people who don't drive need one? No one know how to use a freaking pay phone these days.

Quick - tell me where the 3 closest pay phones to you are located . . .

timbernet wrote in post #5304638 (external link)
There aren't any pay phones :-D

And there are even fewer every day . . .

Yes, it is dark...intentionally.

And very nice . . . intentionally.

Wasn't the Sistine Chapel restored?
We didn't have time to climb the Duomo; that's from across the Arno, isn't it? Boboli or Piazza Michelangelo?
And you got to go up the Campanile, too?

Yup - gonna have to abandon organized tours it looks like . . .

Clumsy . . . they're not exactly easy to change, but if you're getting cut, you're doing something wrong. And we have 2.

Moooorning :) I'm looking at blue sky and sun!! WAAAAHOOOOOO!!!!! We're going out somewhere to have fun today. Not sure where but somewhere!

You guys and your texting  I don't text. I don't send it and tell my kids not to send it to me...I hate the phone. I don't like to be interrupted when I'm out and about. So if I want to write someone I send them an email...and call if I NEED to.

I've been with Verizon before they were Verizon and I've been happy with the service. We get excellent covererage every where we go. My brother-in-law used to live with us and had service with T-Mobile. He had to go out onto the front porch to be able to make a call.

If Verizon is disabling features on their phones, then I'm OK with it. There's way too much stuff on phones as it is.

I don't care about the disabling either. I'm happy with verizon. Though I've never used their internet. But unless I'm in Joshua Tree NP, I can always get a signal

Woolburr wrote in post #5305034 (external link)
US Cellular has better coverage here, but Verizon isn't too bad...and my whole family and most of my friends are on Verizon...so free calling can't be beat.

my kids are on cingular. We thought about switching but we like verizon. The rest of the family is on it so....

These are all lovely but I'm stunned at the colors in the above shot. I can't imagine what it was like to see it IRL!
