Well, Lisa will be happy to know that the problems she had with my 50 f/1.2L were not her imagination. I played around with it for a while tonight, and discovered that it back-focuses badly. I did some comparative tests with it and my 50 f/1.4, and the less expensive lens is absolutely perfect. For the first time in my life, I took a couple pictures of focus charts just to verify it, and it was pretty surprising.

I'll post the pictures in a couple minutes.

Looks like a trip to Irvine.
