Took a couple of headshots for someone. This is the one she likes but not the best of the bunch.

How does it look on your monitor? This is scaled down for the web so the quality is down compared to my large sized copy in CS3.

C&C welcomed.

something looks a little oof... and her face has almost no defining shape because the lighting is too uniform. I'm sorry I can't be more specific, but one of the experts on here will educate both of us in due time... She is also dead center in the shot, and that takes away any drama and potentially interesting negative space.

Some shadowing and a little contrast brings out her features..you got her eyes really nicely.but her mouth seems soft?

Hi Michael.
Thanks for the info. She needs to be totally centered as per the publication. I used some skin softening thus the lack of detail but I understand your comments concerning the lighting.

Here is another pic. Any improvement?

Thanks

One more vote for #2. Looks much better, and is a very nice portrait.

Thanks for the comments.

Here is the untouched version. This was a very quick shoot, all she had was 15 minutes in a temp location.

This is just a very dirty quick edit I hope you dont mind I think that I might have overdone the noise that I put back when I softened the face.
