I have a Promaster Spectrum 7 100 - 400mm 1:4.5-6.7 lens that I bought many years ago for my Rebel 35 mm. It has both MF and AF if that makes any difference.

Will it work on a Canon dslr?

Thank you

Sharon

It will if it's an EF mount.

Not sure why, but call me JJ.

EF, or so the manual for the camera says that is what is compatible.

I think the only thing to watch out for is firmware incompatibility. I know some older Sigma lenses have caused ERR99s to occur. Sigma I believe will re-chip these lenses at no cost. I have not heard of any such similar behavior with these lenses though. So put it on, give it a try. As long as it’s an EF mount, the lens will fit.
