Last summer - I think it's been raining ever since.

I had a 580EX camera left held by an assistant. Fired ETTL from a 580EX on camera.

Zansho, was the one with the old limo in Minnesota? I used to chauffer a 1939 Caddilac that looked axactly like that one. I heard there was only two of them in the country and that looks awfully familiar.

The new owners advertise it as a 1937, but my boss told me it was a 39.

It was actually here in Austin. I forget who owns the Caddy, as I think someone forwarded me the website. I can dig around and see if I can find it. :) That car was a beaut though, very well done and gorgeous.

Hmm...I noticed the bride is in the shade of the tree. Do you mind if I ask what settings you had on the flash and camera?

20D, Av mode, 1/2000, f6.3, ISO 200, kit lens at 30mm.

Using 580EX in ETTL to camera left supported by a voice activated light stand, 580EX on camera as master pointed directly at the slave.

thanks.

It was mad cold (6 degrees C, about 43F), rainy and windy, and just downright miserable. Put a pocketwizard and 580 on the floor of the bridge. Ran the heck far away and via radioed to the couple to walk out and stand 1m behind the flash. Fired a couple shots and we all ran back to shelter. ;)

can't beat the range and reliability of pocketwizards.

Lloyd, you're a show-off, but you already know I like your work. The 1st and 3rd shots are my favourites. I think I tend to like your shots w/o flash than with. Of the shots with flash, I like the way the lighting turned out on the 4th and 5th.

My preference is that for shots with flash, it's not obvious that a flash was used...not sure if that even makes any sense.

there are some cases where you HAVE to use flash and some that you don't. The 'flashy look' all depends on the balance between ambient and flash.
